Big Spring Area Food Bank is a ministry that began its monthly food distributions in 1990. Since 2010, distributions have been made from Big Spring United Lutheran Church, 101 Crossroad School Road.
Distributions are made every month to families living in the Big Spring School District. The food bank has been serving between 120 and 140 families in recent months. However, we anticipate an increased need for food as residents are being furloughed or laid off during mandatory business closures. Online donation is not up and running as of yet.

The Big Spring Area Food Bank is located inside the Big Spring United Lutheran Church, 101 Crossroad School Road, Newville, Pa. It’s normal distribution date is the last Monday of the month with the exception of May, November, and December. During these months it will be the Monday before the Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas holidays. The Food Bank serves about an average of 180 families per month, all within the Big Spring School District.

This means that if there is a 2 hour delay, distribution will begin at 11 AM.
If school is cancelled, distribution is postponed until the day school reopens.
